Kadeem Alston-Román is a New York City based director and choreographer who creates work that dances between entertainment and inspiration. Whether it’s on stage, on film or in a community space, his projects mix storytelling, movement and heart, bringing energy and imagination wherever they go.

A proud graduate of Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and the Performing Arts and Muhlenberg College, Kadeem has choreographed more than 85 pieces across styles from modern and contemporary to street jazz, contemporary ballet and West African. His artistic work has been showcased at various venues from large arenas such as Madison Square Garden to universities like Lehigh University. He has also worked on a range of Off-Broadway productions including Play the Music Softly and Alive 55+ and Kickin’, the latter earning an AUDELCO Award nomination for Best Choreography. His creative projects have also appeared on CBS’s 60 Minutes and at KCON, the international K-Pop convention.

Known for bringing calm focus and positive energy into every room, Kadeem draws from his background in wellness to ground his creative process and the people he works with. He aims to create art that not only entertains but uplifts and reminds others to stay present and connected.

Kadeem is a proud member of The Harriet Tubman Effect and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC). He also joined Maestra Music’s RISE Summit as a panelist sharing his perspective on the intersection of art, collaboration and community.

When he’s not directing or choreographing, you can find Kadeem singing his heart out at karaoke, trying out new restaurants or leading a meditation class somewhere in the mountains!
